SPJ-Virginia Pro Chapter (then Sigma Delta Chi, Richmond Pro Chapter) received its charter in April 1958. To mark the occasion, the chapter is beginning to plan a celebration. Caroline Cardwell and Brian Eckert are co-chairs of the 50th Anniversary Committee. If you have a suggestion about celebrating the anniversary, please contact Caroline or Brian. Initial thinking is for a black tie event (recalling the initial black tie dinner where the charter was presented), perhaps a dinner-dance that includes a formal SPJ induction ceremony and remarks by SPJ national president Clint Brewer and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine.
