A reminder to all members of the Virginia Pro chapter:
Don’t miss out on your best opportunity to connect with fellow journalists during the Region 2 Spring Conference in Norfolk!
On Friday and Saturday, the Norfolk Waterside Marriott will be jammed with sessions hosted by SPJ and our partners at the Virginia Press Association.
Friday evening reception
SPJ members are welcome to a Friday evening reception, which will be held at Trilogy Bistro, 101 Granby Street, beginning at 8 p.m. It’s just up Main Street from the Marriott. Cash bar and free hors d’oeuvres.
A few highlights from the Saturday program:
Social media ethics discussion
Wondering if your personal and professional social media efforts are on the right track? We’ll kick off with a supersession on social media ethics with representatives from TV, print, online and advertising backgrounds.
Student award winners honored
SPJ will celebrate Mark of Excellence Award winners from across Region 2 during an included luncheon, featuring a keynote address from Bill Adair, editor of Politifact. First place winners will represent Region 2 at the Excellence in Journalism conference in New Orleans.
