AP Day at the Capitol in Richmond, Dec. 7, this year features several power-packed seminars on government and politics affecting all Virginians.
There will be an update from Gov. Bob McDonnell and the first debate of the 2012 U.S. Senate race.
Here is the schedule of events:
9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Registration and coffee
9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Panel 1: Uranium Mining
11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Panel 2: K-12 Education (state funding for public schools)
12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. Lunch Speaker – Gov. Bob McDonnell
1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. U.S. Senate Candidates Debate
The event is open to members of the Associated Press, Virginia AP Newspapers, the Virginia Capitol Correspondents Association and Virginia Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Pre-registration is required to assure space at the event.

The cost is $12, and includes coffee and lunch. Checks should be payable to Virginia AP Newspapers.
If you wish to park your car, the fee is $6, and should be at the 700 Center Parking Deck, 112 North 8th Street. Again, be sure to register ahead of time to reserve your spot (below).
