Beasley to speak at VCU book luncheon

Richmond author Nancy Wright Beasley will be the featured speaker at VCU’s Fifth Annual Monroe Scholars Book and Authors Luncheon April 15.

The event is set to begin at noon at Willow Oaks Country Club in Richmond.

Beasley is the author of “Izzy’s Fire,” which describes the tale of a poor Catholic farm family who risked their lives to save 13 Lithuanian Jews.

Her career has included time as a state correspondent for the Richmond News Leaders and as a columnist/contributing editor for Richmond magazine. She has been a freelance writer since 1992.

The cost is $75 per ticket or $700 for a table of 10. Tickets can be purchased at vcualumnoi.org/bookluncheon.
