SPJVA donates to Sierra Jenkins Scholarship Fund
In an email vote, the board of directors of the SPJ Virginia Pro Chapter agreed to donate $150 to the scholarship fund established in the memory of Sierra Jenkins, a Virginian-Pilot reporter who was fatally shot in Norfolk on March 19. The board also urged SPJVA members and supporters to consider contributing to the fund.
Help Nominate 2022 George Mason Awardee
The Society of Professional Journalists, Virginia Pro Chapter, seeks nominations for its 56th George Mason Award, tentatively scheduled to be presented in early December 2022. The annual award has only one stated criterion: It recognizes a person who “has made outstanding contributions to Virginia journalism.”
