Nancy Beasley Is Featured Speaker Oct. 12

The American Journalism Historians Association is holding its annual conference in downtown Richmond this month. And meeting organizers have tapped our own Nancy Beasley as one of the featured speakers.

Nancy will be sharing her thoughts during the Donna Allen Luncheon at noon Friday, Oct. 12, in the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The group will also give her an award for her accomplishments in journalism.

Paulette Kilmer, who is coordinating the luncheon, writes: “Donna Alley founded the Women’s Institute for Freedom of the Press and devoted her life and treasure to crusading for media reform. She was an inspiration and often attended our conference. Each year, we honor a woman from the community where our organization is meeting who merits recognition for her meritorious career as a journalist.”

Congratulations to Nancy!
