2 Virginia college students awarded summer journalism fellowships
Grant Johnson, a graduating senior at James Madison University, and Merrill Hart, a junior at the University of Virginia, have been selected as 2024 summer newsroom fellows by the Virginia SPJ,SDX Educational Foundation.
Student fellowship funding and new SPJVA board member
The SPJVA board has allocated $1,500 to the SPJ,SDX Educational Foundation in support of the foundation’s fellowships for college journalists doing summer internships. Also, Reynolds Hutchins, editor of The Daily Progress in Charlottesville, was appointed to finish out the term of board member Hawes Spencer.
